The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (or COP21 for short) will be held in Paris from 30 November to 11 December. It’s vital that international action is agreed and taken to stem the advance of climate change by reducing carbon emissions. Many attempts have been made at United Nations gatherings before, but there has been much talk, much debate, and many broken promises.
To raise awareness of the talks, and to show our solidarity in the fight against climate change, Westminster Justice and Peace are undertaking a bike ride from London to Paris. We hope to take part in rallies of support for climate justice and to meet other people of faith who want to see a change in our profligate use of fossil fuel.
We completed the first leg of our journey, from London to Newhaven, in August (you can read about it here). The second leg, from Dieppe to Paris, will take place from 24-29 November and we are training hard. Please sponsor us here!
